For example, GWP (the term "Global Warming Potential") only considers the potential impact of leakage, and virtually all "low GWP" refrigerants will cause the existing HVAC-R system to operate less efficiently and consume more electricity. And lead to more greenhouse gas emissions in the form of CO2.

Refrigerants and global warming
The impact of refrigerants on the environment is measured by the following characteristics:Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP)

*Range 0-1

*When the refrigerant is close to 1, the greater the harm to the ozone layer

*Chlorine-containing refrigerants (such as Freon or CFC refrigerants) are most likely to cause ozone depletionGlobal Warming Potential (GWP)

*Range 0-2500 +

*Values less than 150 are considered low, 150-2500 are medium, and greater than 2500 are considered high GWP

*HCFC (HydroChloroFluoroCarbons) refrigerant has the highest GWP grade

*Refrigerants with an ODP of 0 are considered safe for the environment, but not friendly to the environment because they may still cause global warming.
